A completely loaded transport vehicle dove into Iju River along Owode-Idiroko Road in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State yesterday.
The incident, which included a white 18-seater traveler transport vehicle with reg number Epe 197 XG was said to have taken off from Sango and was heading towards Atan-Idiroko when the driver lost control and the transport vehicle dove into the waterway around 10.45 am, The Sun reports.
Sixteen of the inhabitants of the transport passed on while four others endured wounds and were taken to a close-by hospital. The driver facilitated early safeguard of the operations before the landing of rescue team including the police and authorities of Federal Road Safety Corps.
An observer told the production that the neighborhood jumpers recouped the dead bodies of five victims, while a lady and her little girl were protected.
Another victim who essentially recognized himself as Taofeek was additionally seen at the scene with wounds all over. Affirming the collide with Sunday Sun in a phone meeting, the Head of Operations, Ota Unit of FRSC, Mr. Tunde Odunmbaku blamed the incident for over speeding speeding.
As per him,
“There were 20 passengers onboard. Eight of them were male while the remaining 12 were female. The accident happened about 10.45 am due to excessive speeding on the part of the driver.”
