Edo Election: Six Arrested For Violating Movement Restriction

A consolidated security group set up to screen the Edo governorship election has supposedly captured six people for defying restrition of movemen order.

Punch reported that the Edo Comptroller of Prisons and member of the group, Mr Amadin Osayande, said in Benin that the suspects were captured at Welfare junction, Upper Sakponba street, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, on Wednesday.

Osayande said that four men and two ladies were captured inside a business transport during the election.

He additionally said that the associates said they knew with the limitation of movement order, yet they approached their normal business.

Osayande included that there was limitation of movement but then they were driving around the city.

He said, “Really, we as a whole realize that there is dependably limitation of movement during the election, yet the suspects were parading the city.

“Aside from the limitation order, the suspects looked suspicious and should have been examined.”

Different individuals from the joined security group are; the state Commissioner of Police, Commander, 4 detachment of the Nigerian Army, state Comptroller of Prisons, delegates of the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps
