Nigerian respectable laureate Wole Soyinka says he will damage his green card and depart the United States on the off chance that it so happens that Donald Trump wins the presidential election.
As per a report by The Guardian, Soyinka, a researcher in-resident at New York University’s Institute of American Affairs, revealed the arrangement in a conversation to Oxford student.
He was cited as saying:
“If in the unlikely event he does win, the first thing he’ll do is to say (that) all green-card holders must reapply to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that.
“The moment they announce his victory, I will cut my green card myself and start packing up.”
The Nobel laureate additionally condemned Brexit, cautioning that there is an ascent of “ultranationalism” and approaching young people to oppose mistreatment.
His remarks come under three weeks after 70 Nobel laureates upheld Democratic Presidential applicant Hillary Clinton.
