Admitting you’ve been molested is one thing; recovering from it is another, and then sharing your story is a whole other ballgame.
As many Nigerians continue to express their dissatisfaction with domestic violence, Blessing Okoro, a relationship and mental health expert, has revealed how her ex-husband, Lucky, abused her when she was 15 years old.
The recent death of Osinachi Nwachukwu, a prominent Nigerian Christian worship musician known as the “Ekwueme crooner,” has pushed the subject of domestic abuse to the forefront.
Following Osinachi’s death, lots of celebrities, religious leaders, and political figures have spoken out about domestic abuse, with many of them sharing personal stories and pushing victims to leave abusive situations.
Many Nigerian women and men have recently fled their homes after being mistreated, while some were unable to do so due to the hands of death touching them.
While revealing her domestic violence experience on her Instagram page, Blessing Okoro said that the innocent-looking man was the one she had been talking about for years, the one who had taken away her childhood at the age of 15 and assaulted her.
She wrote: “Memory lane ….
