The day has finally come. Jabari Smith Jr. has declared that he will be officially entering the 2022 NBA Draft after one season with Auburn basketball. The most ranked recruit in Auburn basketball history, Smith, was portrayed as a good and even rated as the potential best pick this year.
Jabari Smith made a record on the Plains under head coach Bruce Pearl, claiming SEC Freshman of the Week honors six times and eventually being named SEC Freshman of the Year and got the Freshman of the Year title by the National Association of Basketball Coaches body.
They helped lead the Tigers to their first #1 ranking in the AP Poll and a standalone regular-season SEC Championship.
After announcing that Walker Kessler would not be returning to the Plains, Smith has made his NBA aspirations official. While Auburn basketball fans are sad to see both of them moving on, hopefully, d that the pair will be going major after this season.
Although it may be quite a while before a talent like Jabari Smith Jr. sets foot on the Plains again, Bruce Pearl and his coaching staff are already reloading for next season and preparing to do great things again.
