On Bounce Radio, podcast show hosted by media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Nigerian artist Davido expressed his gratitude to Tekno.
Tekno wrote and produced Davido’s smash song “If,” which has received over 147 million views on YouTube since its debut in 2017.
Davido expressed his gratitude to Tekno by revealing how he was reintroduced to the public eye after over a year without a hit.
When asked how the “If” song came about, Davido told Ebuka that he was in the club having fun like the baller he used to be when Tekno told him he had a song for him.
He added that the singer came to drag him one day at club Quilox, concluding that he had never seen anyone like that before willingly giving him a song.
He also claimed that Tekno wrote and recorded the entire song, and that there is a Tekno version of the tune.
During the podcast, Ebuka inquired as to why Tekno chose Davido for the song, to which Davido said that it is because he is a good guy.
Davido concluded that after Tekno dragged him to his house, he recorded the song, and the next day, he contacted him and said the song will be a hit, and by extension, it became a major hit recognized by music fans all over the world.
