Southland Stags prop Joe Walsh on the charge against Wellington during the 2021 NPC season.
The Southland Stags’ most capped player from the 2021 season, Joe Walsh, will return for a seventh campaign this year.
The loosehead prop has played 53 games for Southland since his debut in 2016 after he decided to shift south from Waikato.
He played his 50th against Wellington during the 2021 National Provincial Championship. “Joe is one of our senior members now, and we are delighted that he has recommitted to the Stag. He has a very professional attitude and drives high standards for himself and the team,” Hall said.
“Having taken up the chance to play full-time in America, we are looking forward to his return at the end of June and getting back into his work for the Stags, undoubtedly a better player.”
Walsh joins Ethan de Groot and Paula Latu as other loose head propping options already signed to date.
Although de Groot’s availability will depend on potential All Black commitments
