Luka Dončić was happy to be better, even if the Dallas Mavericks’ All-Star is uncertain about Thursday’s outcome.
Doncic did not feature in the first two games of the best-of-seven series against the Utah Jazz with a strained calf. He said he had a large part of his time on the trainer’s table receiving treatment and desires a change of environment as the series leans towards Salt Lake City for Game 3 on Thursday night.
‘I’m doing a lot of treatment, man,” Doncic said. “I’m tired of just laying down and doing a treatment.”
Doncic reviewed the progress but warned against doing too much and suffering complications.
“(Wednesday) and (Tuesday), I did a little bit,” he said. “We shouldn’t rush anything. But step by step, I think I’m improving a lot, and I’m getting better.”
Jason Kidd expressed his thoughts on Doncic. The Mavericks at first stated he would probably miss 7-10 days.
“Injuries come at the wrong time, but we can’t cry over spilled milk. Luka’s injury came at the wrong time, but we can’t cry over spilled milk. If he can go, that doesn’t mean we will win games, but if he is on the floor. Hopefully, we feel better if he’s on the floor.
