The recent happening in Chrisland School resulted in the closing of schools in the state to that effect.
Mercy Johnson-Okojie, an actress, took to social media to express her joy over the reopening of schools in Lagos State.
The Lagos State Government issued an order on April 23 instructing public and private schools throughout the state to begin classes on Monday, April 25, 2022, in accordance with the harmonized academic calendar for the 2021/2022 session.
“The second term holiday which started on Friday, April 8, 2022, ends on Friday, April 22, 2022, as stated in the 2021 / 2022 academic calendar, while the third term begins on April 25, 2022,”
Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, Director-General of the state Ministry of Education’s Office of Education Quality Assurance, made the announcement.
Following an unverified announcement attributed to the Nigerian government urging all primary and secondary schools across the country to restart on May 9, clarification was required.
The mother of four was overjoyed by the news and uploaded a video with her children, who were rushing to acquire some chocolates while she described how they consume food in such a short amount of time.
The actress wrote in the caption of her Instagram image that she planned to drop her children off at school early the next day while praying for the teachers.
“And School resumes tomorrow, See me dancing na… I can’t wait to drop them off at 7am because I don too suffer. God bless every Teacher oooo chai,” she wrote.
This indicates that schools in Lagos are gradually returning to normal.
