Mark Robinson, the New Zealand Rugby (NZR) boss, has apologized to the country’s women players over inadequate support for the women’s high-performance program after a cultural review.
The independent panel reported that some players and management had complained of negative experiences within the Black Ferns national women’s team environment, including body-shaming, culturally insensitive comments, and favoritism.
Black Ferns hooker Te Kura Ngata reacted to the review. Aerengamate posted on her social media that she had suffered a psychological setback after some critical comments from Coach Glenn Moore.
Ngata-Aerengamate’s post came after the world champion Black Ferns lost four Tests consecutively against England and France in November. This is after two years of not playing internationals due to the pandemic.
