Manchester City manager found Fernandinho would leave this summer during a press conference.
Pep Guardiola had no idea Fernandinho planned to leave the club this summer until the media told him. Fernandinho expressed his decision to leave Manchester City when his contract expires this summer in a press conference.
The 36-year-old has made just six Premier League appearances this season. However, he replied, “I don’t think so,” when asked about the possibility of being at City next season. Instead, he expressed his desire to fly back to Brazil with his family and continue playing.
Fernandinho said: “I still want to play, to go back to Brazil. But, I decided with my family, which is the most important thing for me.
“Until then, I’m still hoping; I’m hoping in every training session and game, and I will be ready to play.” Guardiola held his press conference after the Brazilian spoke to the media ahead of the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Atlético Madrid.
