Police Say Abuja Isn’t for Everyone, And They’ve Apprehended 98 ‘Bola Boys.’

Date:

Officers from the Abuja Police Command have detained 98 scavengers known as ‘Baban Bola’ for stealing, highlighting the fact that Abuja is not for everyone.

On Monday, when arraigning the suspects at the command’s headquarters, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ben Igwe stated that the offenders will be deported to their home states.

DCP Igwe stated that certain unusual people have been flocking to the nation’s capital, and that the command was attempting to remove such individuals from Abuja.

He said: “Abuja is not for everybody. We have asked them to go where they are supposed to be.

“We are working towards clearing them from the FCT. We will keep doing that and we will not relent.

“We recovered from them several things that they are not supposed to scavenge. They steal properties while claiming to scavenge refuses.

“We have asked them to relocate. Many people have been trooping into the FCT, and some of them are coming with evil intentions. Whenever you see them, let us know.

“We are taking them to court to make sure that justice is given. We have a serious issue now because of threats from so many places.”

Recall that in the early hours of Monday, about 50 scavengers attacked the Kabusa village, wilfully harming and trashing homeowners’ property until the Police arrived to restore order.

We actually commend the police for their good work on this one.
