Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, a Nigerian musician, has expressed her dissatisfaction with the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.
ASUU began a one-month warning strike on February 14th and prolonged it for another two months, citing the government’s claimed failure to honor its agreements.
Since then, students have remained at home, waiting for the strike to be called off.
Rema, who had previously stated that he had been accepted to study at the University of Lagos, UNILAG, urged ASUU on Monday to end the strike.
He lamented the fact that he had not begun studies since receiving his acceptance letter.
He said this via his Twitter handle.
His tweet read: “ASUU, since dem give me admission I never start school o, e don do nau!
This is what we’d get if more influential people schooled in Nigeria, we’re hoping for the best. t.
