Revington, who joins from a technical director position at Malaysia Hockey, replaces Danny Kerry, who resigned in January after 17 years.
“I feel privileged to be allowed to lead Great Britain and England men’s teams in their next chapter of international hockey,” Revington said.
The South African has previously served as head coach of Britain’s women’s Elite Development Programme, assistant coach to the women’s senior teams. It is a former International Hockey Federation World Coach of the Year.
“Our coaching and management team enter an environment filled with opportunities,” he remarked.
“A national club league shows exciting growth potential, a healthy pool of athletes thanks to a victorious Great Britain EDP program; a squad containing a competitive mix of youth and experience, and a national team taking positive strides forward in the Tokyo cycle. “Added to this is an exciting time for all three home nations as they look to excel over the coming months and compete at international events including the Commonwealth Games and World Cup.”
