Tar Heels Battling Blue Blood For Five-Star Wing

Date:

There is a new UNC basketball recruiting target in the class of 2024, and he already has his usual prospects.

The North Carolina Tar Heels had an eventful weekend at the Nike EYBL in Orlando, Florida, watching some of the nation’s nation’s most talented high school basketball players. The class of 2023 includes five-star recruits Simeon Wilcher, Gregory “G.G.” Jackson, and Matas Buzelis, and four-star recruits Zayden High.

The UNC coaching staff also contacted a few classes of 2024 prospects, including No. 1-ranked Naasir Cunningham. Hubert Davis and two UNC assistants also watched a group of blue blood programs, a consensus top-25 wing in the class of 2024. Asemota, a 6-foot-9, 207-pound sophomore that attends Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, Arizona, already holds nearly 20 scholarship offers. Arizona, Auburn, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Ohio State, and Texas Tech are part of the programs to extend scholarship offers to Asemota in his early recruitment.

In addition, Baylor, Duke, Kentucky, and many effective programs can follow the trail. 247 Sports Composite reports that Asemota is the No. 18 prospect in the 2024 class. He is ranked fifth among players in his position and first in the state of Arizona. Unfortunately, there are currently no predictions in Asemota’s Crystal Ball, and it could be quite some time before there are.
