When the Tuchel saw the referee laughing together with Ancelotti after the final whistle, he was not happy.
“I was disappointed that the referee had a good time with Carlo,” Tuchel said in his post-match press conference.
“I know that Carlo is a gentleman and a nice guy, but when I wanted to go and say thank you, I saw him smiling and laughing aloud with the opponent’s coach.
“I think this is the wrong time to do this after the final whistle, 126 minutes of a team giving their heart and fighting to the last drop.”
“When you see a referee smiling and laughing with the other coach, it’s terrible timing. So I told him this.”
Tuchel said: “When you play against Real Madrid, maybe you don’t expect everyone has the courage.
“I felt the little decisions in the first leg and today.”
